For some, the hardest part of a fitness journey is getting started. That was the case for Tracy, who initially joined looking for a workout that could challenge them both physically and mentally. What began as a leap of faith quickly transformed into a source of strength, confidence, and resilience. A year and a half later, the challenges continue to fuel their motivation, and the rewards extend far beyond the studio. In this Q&A, they share how InstaPhysique has helped them embrace imperfection, rediscover passions, and develop the courage to face challenges head-on.
What was your ‘why’ for starting at InstaPhysique, and how has that reason evolved as you’ve progressed on your fitness journey?
I joined InstaPhysique seeking a workout that was different—something that would challenge me both physically and mentally. I’ve never been someone who enjoyed working out, but this felt different; the time flew by. A year and a half later, my original “why” still holds true. Each class continues to push me, both mentally and physically, and while I’ve improved, there’s always room to level up. I never stop feeling challenged.
What surprising strengths have you discovered about yourself since joining InstaPhysique?
My InstaPhysique journey has helped me grow as a person. While it feels great when others notice my new physical strength, it feels even better when they recognize my newfound bravery and willingness to try new things. Joining InstaPhysique without knowing anyone was a huge step for me, but it opened the door to so much more. Since then, I’ve rediscovered my love for hiking, spent more time outdoors, and even started playing tennis—a sport I now enjoy.
Two years ago, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to look imperfect or risk feeling foolish in front of others. Now, I embrace those moments as part of trying something new. I’ve developed both the physical and mental strength to face challenges head-on and work hard to overcome them, and that’s been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their fitness journey with InstaPhysique?
My advice to someone just starting is simple: keep going. It’s definitely challenging, but it’s absolutely worth it. Every day, I remind myself of my “why” as I get up at 5:00 a.m. and head to the car. Forty minutes later, the rush of “I did it” makes all the effort worthwhile. In each class, I set small goals—whether it’s doing three Bears, holding my plank, or staying balanced during
Scrambled Eggs—and I hit those goals about 90% of the time. I’ve yet to make it through an entire class without taking a break, but that’s part of what keeps me coming back.
Each session is a new challenge, never boring or repetitive. The coaches are fun, supportive, and motivating, always encouraging you to push yourself. There’s a unique bond in the room, built from everyone working hard and pushing themselves individually. It’s a truly special feeling and what makes InstaPhysique such an extraordinary place.
Favorite mega move?
Super Lunge! I love it because I could not do it at all the first 3 months. I would be on the floor watching a room full of people look so regal and strong and amazing. I wanted to be part of that magic. Now whenever we do Super Lunge, I imagine looking around at the beginning and how awesome we all look- how strong and tall and proud- and it inspires me.
